my ds has SLD, and behaviour issuses. he started school last sept, and gets picked up and dropped off by the school bus, which he loves. But in the mornings, he sometimes makes himself sick on the bus, while he's doing so, he's looking around to see who's watching him, and what attention he's getting. Yesterday, he had a great day, no issues, until hometime, and he made himself repeatedly sick on the bus on the way home. The driver and escort, weren't exactly happy. But ive since heard that both bus drivers have been asked if this happens regularly and what they've done to try and stop it happening. Im now really worried, that there not gonna let him travel on the bus. I dont know how to make him stop, or what triggers it. I just feel like its 1 thing after another

I don't know your Ds or what issues he has but if he is sensitive to smells it could be that the bus smells funny. I used to be sick in my parents car, it had a very distinctive smell I think it was the polish they used on the seats.

I also feel sick in a car thta has been smoked in.

I don't know if your son has issues with smell, its just a thought.Smile.

there was a thread on here the other day about a child doing this it was apparently a sensory issue i think it was someones child who was CP and done in a comforting way but i dont know,my ds sluightly different when he crys and sometimes when hes in my room he likes to shout and pulls faces extreme face pulling but not in a having fun way as if he likes seeing himself doing it. theres bound to be others who do this too

Does he have an escort sit with him? maybe they could find a way to distract him (keep him busy).

Dd1 (AS) used to make herself sick but through crying (managed to get it down to a fine art of screaming and throwing up), hers was not a sensory problem but an attention thing (wanted the attention), eventually she grew out of it.
