Changed my name for this as this is a legal matter but most of you know who I am.
Found out today that ds gdd was probably caused by medical negligence.
Just waiting for experts to either confirm or deny this statement.
I am devastated, numb and angry at the same time.

Yet again unsure fo what the GDD stands for but im sure it must be devestating news for you.

i think its easier to deal with problems if we know there was nothing we could have done to prevent it.
It is no surprise you are angry, and you have every right to be so.

sending you lots of luck with your ongoing fight.

hugs

Saker · 19/10/2005 18:20

So sorry for this.

PeachyClairPumpkinPie · 19/10/2005 18:23

You have every right to be angry, but there is strength in knowing the truth. Thinking of you xx

GDD global developmental delay

Scout (no, no idea who you are) - this must be very confronting for you. I hope the experts are open, and quick, so that you don't have to spend any longer in limbo not knowing the full truth.

madmummyof2 · 19/10/2005 18:49

thanks moondog.

You must be devestated, I can't imagine how you feel and what terrible feelings you must be going through. I just hope you can get some peace in the future xxx

All I can offer you is strenght, love and cyber hugs.{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

It is one thing knowing that Amelia's "condition" was just what was meant to be, fate-whatever you would like to call it. But to find out it was all due to someone's negligence must be very hard to come to terms with. I cannot imagine your emotions, bottle them for later, you may need them to fight for your corner.

Remember, you will always have support here.

I'm so so sorry, I cried when I saw this. You and your family must be absolutely shattered. I wish you all the strength in the world to help you come to terms with this, or at least find some kind of peace in the future. Now they've admitted negligence I hope the process of compensation is a smooth one for you, you're entitled to every penny to help him and you live as normally as possible for the rest of his life.

DinoScareUs · 20/10/2005 14:18

I'm really sorry. I know this must be really hard to come to terms with. Sending you my best wishes.

xx

Sorry to hi jack but I am a childminder who has just begun caring for an 8year old girl with GDD and any advice would be most welcome. Mum is too busy to talk and also a language barrier. Have looked it up on the internet but not learnt much. Any general advice would be most welcome. Also care for 8 year old boy with complex needs but thats a whole other story.
