Medic Alert bracelet - how much to put on it?

Hi there.

DD has Galactosaemia (rare genetic disorder meaning dairy will give her brain damage) plus severe Epilepsy. I was going to get one of those Medic Alert bracelet things for her as either condition could mean she's in danger if we get separated. But she also has "something on the Autistic spectrum"; not formally diagnosed yet further than "severe communication delay" though docs and therapists are treating her as if she has Autism and I'm guessing that's the diagnosis she'll end up with.

So - in terms of what to put on this bracelet: obviously GALACTOSAEMIA EPILEPSY - should I add something else? Should I add ASD or COMMUNICATION DELAY *? I'm not fussed about "labelling" her one way or another atm - what I am concerned about is what if she has a seizure, comes out of it, but the docs assume she is still under because she doesn't respond to them? She could end up with all sorts of unnecessary drugs. But then again, the MedicAlert lot hate putting anything on the bracelet that you don't have a firm diagnosis for, and realistically we're at least a year away from one of those.

Thoughts? Oh, perhaps should have said - she's just coming up to 20 months atm.

My daughter has a medic alert necklace, its not one of these where you pay a subscription, it just has important information on it. She is Diabetic so hers was easy, it Just says

Her Name Date of Birth
Next of Kin and My Mobile Number
Her Doctor and his number
and Type 1 Diabetes Insulin Dependant.

For you daughter I would go with

Her name, Date of Birth, Doctor and his number, Next of Kin and Number
And then Epilepsy, No Dairy, Autistic, Speech Delay.

I would put no dairy rather than galactosemia, as a lot of people would not know what this is.

The necklace my daughter has is this one www.medicaltags.co.uk/medical-tags-stainless-steel.html

Hope that helps

i would put communication delay as that way they will know that she may not respond to communictaions from them. by putting ASD they may not realise she is unable to speak with them etc.

as the Galactosaemia is rare maybe you should put NO DAIRY as well so that someone who doesnt instantly know what it is doesnt give her anything that may harm her.
