chewable melatonin?

Does it exist? A little chewy sweet like tablet would be ideal. Was pondering this at 3am whilst trying to get ds1 to drink orange juice with the contents of a capsule of melatonin in it (having been up since 12 am I hasten to add). Then I flipped into rant mode and decided that as one big group of prescribed users are children with ASD then it "should" be made attractive to that group Capsule bah

Not heard of this, bakabat. I hide the powder in yoghurt or milk and it seems to go down OK.

ds1 can sniff it out in anything. I've tried burying it in cakes, hiding it in drinks. He's a nightmare.

I agree Bakabat. It amazes me what they expect our kids to take and look totally blank when you say "he won't take that"....."but its cherry flavour" etc. Ha ha!

i did buy some from america that were a kind of hard tablet you chewed...they were a 'black grape' flavour...and horrid!

I also didn't think they worked as well as the normal powder capsules.

i am able to put the powder in my boys drinks ok.....so for that i am grateful.

I remember when ds1 was in hospital they tried to give him calpol and nurofen at the same time. Calpol - no problem- he has pink medicine when ill. Nurofen- no way- it was white, he doesn't do white medicines! The nurse ended up wearing it, so they decided it wasn't necessary. Lucky really- the sweetners in nurofen send him crazy.

I get it from Paediatrician too. Its not the finest product! Tablets that don't seem to disolve but I bash them up in a pestle and mortar and put them in juice and it works OK, he drinks it although he makes a face at the end! Its free and local and I'm too lazy to look around on Ebay for a better one!

davros...i'll get the manufacturers name etc of the 'powder' filled capsules i get from superdrug...your pharmacy may not know there are capsules available????
the powder is very fine...and if allowed to dissolve for a few mins- leaves only the slightes 'film' on the top of the drink...which as my boys have sports bottles..means they never se this!
