Sensory Room

I joined my local childrens centre and was told about the various facilities.

One was a sensory room I called earlier to book a place , it is completely free on the day I want to go.

I had not thought a sensory room was only meant for babies/children with special needs but now as it was not booked at all I am worried it will be seen as strange as ds does not have special needs , I just thought he would enjoy the lights etc.

I am not taking the place of a baby that would need it but obviously it costs money to run so is it wrong of me to take ds or at least good to use it?

I understand that many special needs babies/children are excluded from things so perhaps I should not be using this facility?

a couple of childrens centres here have sensory rooms, they're there for all to use, although I think sn groups get priority, no reason why you shouldn't use it. Better it's used than closed due to lack of interest.

I agree with bigcar - it's meant for all. My dd has SN but her friends don't and they all use it and love it as much as she does. I'd go & enjoy! Smile

We use a senosry room at our local resource center and we take our dd with sn and friends come with there babies/toddlers.As long as the facility is being used its good.
