BIBIC - question for those of you who have been

We're going to BIBIC in May for DS1. I've just received some basic info from them and it says that you need to bring food with you for lunch as there is nothing available on site. So we were thinking that maybe it would be better to stay in a cottage (or similar) so that we have catering facilities and can make lunch to take with us. However, having had a quick look at accommodation in the area, all the cottages are either ridiculously expensive or only available for 3 day rentals over a weekend. We need to be there Wed-Friday.

Just wondering what others have done in this situation and if there was any accommodation that you could recommend.

TIA

oh - I just booked for May but noone on the phone said they were charging, just asked me if I wanted the written report which is on top of the £50 admin fee.

Where did you get this info FrenchFlo?

blueShark · 30/03/2011 18:51

oh its on their webiste, fee is £945 from 1 May 2011

Thanks I'll have a look

It seems like it's £945 for the year rather than per visit. Still pricey though, I hope they won't lose lots of families due to the fees.

Well it also says:

bibic's fundraising team will be working closely with families to help them to fundraise for their child. No family will be turned away and there will always be support available for those in the greatest financial need.

That's blown DD2's assessment out of the water then Sad. Although our income is over benefit thresholds we have no slack after essentials like food and bills. We've just had to stop swimming lessons so we would never be able to find £945 unless we sold our caravan and that would mean no chance of a holiday for years.

I was really hanging out for that assessment to give us some answers.

Ive just come on here and ive got to say ive been using BIBIC for over 8yrs now and they have been providing there service for the minimum fee of £50 for a very long time and it seems that a lot of people are forgetting one thing......why do we use BIBIC? its because the systems that are meant to support us dont, so if we want to blame anybody lets blame the powers that be in government for not providing the assessments that they should for our children. Yes BIBIC may be COLD and it may not PROVIDE food but hey, who cares, it gives us the important things, the things that really matter, and that is HOPE FOR OUR CHILDREN!!!! The things that nobody else does and if that means i have to fundraise to ensure my son still receives their services then so be it, becuase like the rest of you i cant afford the fees wither but at the same time i will not sit down and speak badly of a service that if i hadnt of recieved it would mean that my son certainly wouldnt be the child he is today...instead of blogging and complaining why not fill in a application form to one of the charitys that BIBIC told us about in the letter today!
