I had a wtf moment when they discussed the clocks change. Like they've got nothing else to talk about Hmm

And i don't much like the lights going on when I'm walking the kids home from school just before Christmas, but I don't much like the fact that it's barely light when I'm taking them there in the morning, either. There's not exactly any way to re-arrange barely 7 hours of usable daylight that will make it into more than 7 hours. I at least prefer it if it does get sort of light sometime before mid-morning.

I am an adult with HFA and a mother of HFA... I am highly skilled yet I can tell you it is just the same hell all the way. DLA and CA gave some dignity, to keep the head above the crap.

We need to campaign for dignity for disabled people. I want my DC to work and to have fulfilling lives. But aint going to happen untill there will be a policy for employing ASD people. Inclusion and support in work.

The government say they want to reform DLA to focus on what disabled people can do, but actually they are doing the opposite. They are redefining disability as those who can't do much really. To more functioning of us who want and can work they are actually denying any support. So we are left alone with our children to descend in poverty and face the fact that we are not equal and everything we aspire for is inaccessible.

The right reform should give more support to more functional people so they can indeed stay independent and invest in their skills, support their disabled children. Otherwise what can we do? Hand DC out to SS?
We are just 1% of population, who will listen to us?

Loko it shouldn;t give more support to functional people (not sure if I rad that right) it should give all disabled people what they need to cope.

DS1 will be dismissed at 16 altogether yet his Psych etc say he is highly likely to end up in prison (AS, a certain presentation). DS3 will need lifelong support to live- I doubt either will get it. I hope DS2, the least SN of my chidlren (dyspraxia) will sod off to another country and work there so he cannot get their care landed on him.

I quite like dark on the cenings preceeding Chriatmas, makes it more festive but then that's one of my many ASD traits coming out- hate that sort of change. And trying to get my boys to adjust to a 2 hour clock change?

Anyone got any vallium?

loko thats well said and my feelings also

if the pull the proverbial rug from us who would higher someoene with special needs even if no longer recongnized by a curropt and disreputable government. yes i mean the so called coilition

why higher a aspie when you can higher a normal.

unless theres laws in place to help people get jobs this dla change will result in many losing homes many more losing hope and some losing lives

the only thing we can do is pressure the govenment to tell us what the plan is and where autistics and hfa will fall into there 'brilliant' scheme

saddly im no letter writer but we need help to sort this out and appeal

'A normal' [confused'

Why can;t we have have people with asperger's or NT people?

You know.... just people in their many presentations, not walking diagnostic labels with nothing else to show for their humanity?
