London Eye

Just want to say that I had the most wonderful experience taking 5 yr old DC with ASD. I booked a ticket for him, getting a free carers' pass and complimentary fast track.

Despite being Valentines Day (and huge queues), not only did we get tickets almost immediately but also got a goody bag full of London Eye goodies but we also got on to the Eye straight away. DC absolutely loved it and there was no stress involved whatsoever.

Can highly recommend it

We've also been on the London Eye with DS1, 2 and 3 (DS2 with ASD.) It was the first time we 'played the disability card' and queue jumped but it was really easy, they didn't even ask to see his DLA. The fast track takes you to near the front of the queue, still seemed quite a long wait for DS2, but we all loved it, even if DS2 kept getting a bit close to the door for my liking. Smile

I was also on it on Valentines day with DT's, DT2 has sensory issues but really enjoyed it. Did you go to the 3d thing that was on in the ticket building. I didnt really know what we were going to see and Dt2 was a bit stressed until we got the earplugs in. Glad you enjoyed it

Will be going to london soon, last time was there wanted to go on london eye, but never because queue too big. How did you go about getting ticket, did you book in advance or will it be ok on day ds in wheelchair so will i have to take dla letter & something to show im his carer. Thanks for info.

I booked in advance at a set time and you get a free carer's ticket. Just told one of the many staff at the queue and was guided to the fast track queue. My DS has ASD so just looks 'normal' (whatever that is) and they didn't even look at his DLA letter. You should have no trouble if your DS is in a wheelchair.

Phoned up the day before and they took my credit card details for payment for my DS (as his carer I got in free). On the phone I asked if they needed my carer's letter/ paed letter etc but the lady said they didn't. I was so impressed by the whole experience that I am going to write them a letter praising them as it was all so very easy

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse anyone. You don't actually get a carer's 'ticket', you just get in free as a carer for any paying disabled person.
