Took ds2 to see Tangled at a special NAS film screening. It was fantastic! Not too loud, not to dark and nobody was bothered about the noises or children rolling in the aisles. It was full of happy flappy people :)

They are having one every month and ds2 really enjoyed it.

There's one of those in Norwich. We've often wondered if we should try it.

Thanks for feeding back - we may now make the trip!

Sounds fab.
Unfortunately ds2 wouldn't cope with noise and rolling around going on. I take him to the quietest regular screening I can find.
He is the quietest best behaved child in every screening we go to Grin

It's worth checking with your local cinema as lots of the big names do it and they are fab like 5in says. Odeon, Empire etc. I'm involved with our local branch of the NAS and we have a film every month at Empire.

No trailers
Quieter sound
House lights on low

We have one every six weeks or so (can be a bit erratic which is a shame). It's a combined NAS and local parents charity affair. We don't get the new films, but we get people manning all the doors which means that the children can't escape. The most challenging children and young people are therefore able to go and it is WONDERFUL.

This was the first time the NAS had it near me and it was a roaring success. Next months is gnomeo and Juliet

They have SN showings at our local independant cinema, the only problem is they show really old films (last month was Madagascar), not a problme for DS2 but I have seen it a million times already :o

I think the popularity of these films demonstrates that there is a need for specialist services. Those who think all children can attend all mainstream events should sit next to some of our children at these screenings (or chase them around the cinema for 2 hours)
