Can anyone please remind me what the sign for purple is? DS2 has been learning his colours today and I can remember them all except purple.

our SENCO said it was the sign for 'red' and then 'blue' but I'm doubtful. seems a bit confusing. I'd like to know what it is as well....

I remember now, we were taught red and then blue :)

However our SENCO taps the top of her left arm with her other hand, plam open and facing up - is this BSL?

could be a BSL regional variation? I use BSL but am down south so sign with SW 'accent'. Purple for me (right handed) is sign for P but flicking the top of the left index finger with right index when you make the sign...

I asked the SALT today and she reckons that purple is simply forming the letter 'p'. But I don't rely on that either. Mr Tumble would never be so slipshod about it.

I use forming the letter P but flicking the index finger with the finger forming the round bit of the P if that makes sense. I know some people do use red and then blue but I think this is a bit confusing.

I was taught to do a letter p and then tap it twice, ie moving the whole p up and down in a fast tapping motion ( that is sign-along though\\0
