My friend's son has suspected dyslexia and she is considering taking him to see a chap she heard at a Dyslexic Association meeting. he was called Paul Burnett and is into Developmental Integration Technique. It's quite expensive, so before she pays anything she has asked me to enquire if anyone knows anything- good or bad- about this? (She doesn't have internet access)

I googled his name and came up with this...

I haven't heard of him myself, so I can't help there..

Thanks. I found a few things like that, but nothing I would call traceable or independent, and I am concerned about her handing over £500 in advance for something I am struggling to verify. A charity called SNAP listed them on their database, but with no real reviews and I hadn't heard of Snap either.

My little brother has dyslexia and my mums mentioned this man before ( i remember because i thought she meant princess Di's bodyguard)

i think she had a book by him or something. shall ask when i speak to her next.

SNAP is a reputable organisation, really worthwhile for "knowing" people and relevant stuff. Some schools have already started doing something like this, check out the school to see if they have. Might be called something different because of copyright laws, but our school does it and according to the mums, it's helping. Local SNAP should be able to give more info, I think. HTH
