Hi
Am hoping I can get some advice/suggestions. As the title says ds (9) has dypraxia, suspected ASD (awaiting CAHMS assessment) and a lot of sensory issues (specifically to this (I think) a hatred of food in sauce and that slimy mushy texture).
Every time he has thrown up (not many, but too many for him) he has become more fearful of being sick. The latest time was two Thursdays ago, when he woke after going to bed, sat up and threw up everywhere (I think down to total overexcitement as it was his birthday the next day and he had been extremely wound up about it for weeks). He barely ate or drank the next day (even things like dry biscuits) and ever since has eaten much less than normal, maybe half a meal, before saying his tummy hurts. He insists on having a bucket next to his bed, in case he wakes up and is sick again. He was worried about going to Cubs last week, as it was after Cubs the week before he was sick, and only went after I reassured him that Akela would call me if needed. He also keeps going on about being sick.
Has anyone any ideas to help? Anyone with any good social stories that may help? Anybody who can prevent me from slowly going mad??? (I hate him being in distress about it, I also hate the constance of the topic).
