Reposted so more people see it:

I have found that there are funds for nurses, dentists, fire fighters, civil servants, police, transport works, auto industry, security, entertainment, forces, care professionals, charity employees and the list goes on and on. See here

The Bankers Benevolent Fund provide grants towards therapies and equipment for children with disabilities. I have spoken to them this morning and she has said that the trustees may well consider an application for sensory OT Grin

She said that if your child has autism you can get numerous things paid for as recommended by the NAS as the BBF have linked up with them.

That is only applicaple to families of bankers and alumni, as far as I understand. Not for us Grin

The BBF is definitely only for "normal" bank staff rather than bankers in the city! They do an income check to ensure that you don't earn over their limit. I qualify when she went through our income, mortgage, council tax and water bills.

The funds for employees of all of the relevant occupations are for people who can't afford what ever the therapy/equipment is requested.

Am so excited! Smile

My grant got agreed from the BBF for:

Christmas Clinic Assessment (Private OT) cost £430.

Potty Chair £ 245

Mileage to assessments

It totals £704. With follow up appointments/ glasses/overlays to be paid if required Grin

Definitely make sure that you apply to one of these funds if you or your DH/DP works or has worked for one of the professions who offer these grants!

Think it's G&T o'clock Grin

Oh well done.

I've seen the BBF before, was told about it when DS2 was dxed but never gave it a second thought. Might have to see about applying for something!

DS doesn't even have a DX yet, just a list of "symptoms" that I have annotated next to them with his problems so definitely worth going for if you do have a DX. Smile
