Any suggestions of who I can try? Who have you used?

Dd2 has rare pre-existing condition which does not appear on the online lists of conditons. Pah!

I realise I cannot insure for anything to do with her condition, but I would still like insurance for the rest of us and our luggage etc!

Please help!

What is the likelihood of DD2 needing treatment for her condition whilst you are away? Most insurance companies will do a reasonable family deal if you exclude emergencies arising from a condition. Then find separate cover purely for that condition via a specialist insurance company. I know it's not the same, but i did that when i travelled when very pregnant. We got good basic family cover - and what we saved on that, paid for 1 off individual cover for my big fat belly.

A lot of the charities offer appropriate insurance, e.g. NAS, MenCap. Any good to you?

meltedmarsbar - I use Able2Travel for dd. You speak to a real person and they seem to be quite helpful when your condition doesn't fit the boxes. They've insured dd (including her condition) although at a cost.

We've never been able to get cover from the usual places.

I've used a compnay called FLEXICOVER for pre existing conditions and they were very good.

We used All Clear Travel before and Luuk has ahuge list of unusual/unique things and no diagnosis. They covered everything but was costly.

We have a Royaltie account with RBS and get free travel insurance. I contacted them and Luuk is now covered for £140 per year (all clear was £250 for 2 weeks!)

Good luck xxx
