Ed Pysch Assessment tomorrow for ASD 3 year old. Any advice ?

Background...DS is 3, diagnosed in Nov, now at (privately paid for & a hour's drive away) specialist nursery 4 mornings a week and local mainstream nursery one morning a week. LEA has just agreed to do an SA and meanwhile Ed Pysch is coming into mainstream nursery tomorrow morning to assess DS.
She wants to meet me beforehand. I am really scared for some reason. I guess I so desperately want her to see DS needs full time specialist nursery and I bet he will be having one of his 'better' days.
Is she likely to be onside ? What is she likely to ask me and is there anything I should say or keep to myself to further our cause ?
TIA

The Ed Pysch must do a report as part of the statutory assessment.

Don't think for one momment that the Ed Pysch will be 'on side'.

The Ed Pysch is an employee of the Council who will have to fund very expensive support if the Ed Pysch put in the report that it's needed.

So Ed Pysch's don't tend to recommend expensive support that your child may need - strange that.

They'll ask you some developmental history - what you current concerns are etc.

Ask them what they think is required in the way of support.

Be open and honest but try not to belittle it as if they feel the parent is not over-concerned they won't be either.

Best wishes

I'm sorry I have not been in this situation, but wanted to 'bump' your thread-

My ds has seen an ed psyc probably when he was a similar age,but at that time it was to test for cognitive ability-she played games (tests) with him ,but I don't think she engaged him or understood him and I would like another assessment done now.

I would be honest about your concerns and your views about your ds- is the EP from county or is it a private assessment ?

thanks for your replies. The hospital is obliged to inform the LEA here when it diagnoses ASD so a referral form went in after diagnosis and would have happened regardless of their decision to assess or not. Turns out the agreement to assess has come at the same time as the (council) EP visit
