Worth getting a SALT for this?

DS2 (5) was discharged from his main SALT last July, but still has the school SALT there if he needs it. His speach is ok, he can talk and use big words, but he is still quite babyish with some of it. His main problems are Ls which he pronounces as Y and CH which he says C (chocolate is a great word). A few of his friends have asked why he can't talk properly, not in a nasty way though, and I was wondering if it would be worth getting the SALT involved with him.

He has dyspraxia (and ASD) so was thinking it may be something to do with that.

My DS says 'L' as 'Y' too.

I'd say, as he has ASD which is a communication disorder then SALT should still be entirely appropriate for him. SALT is there to help with communication.

Does he have a statement 5in?

Yes, and it is in his statement that he has access to SALT, so getting him an appointment shouldn't be hard.

It is his termly review on the 31st, so will mention it then.
