Do you mean in the maintained sector?

Depending which are you are in.... in Birmingham Secondary schools with Special Resource Bases (ie units) are:

Bartley Green (Speech and Language)
Dame Elizabeth Cadbury (MLD and Communication difficulties)
Ninestiles (Speech and Language and MLD)

Unless you are looking for a primary school? in which case let me know more accurately which area you're in.

Thank you. Do you know of any independent schools at all? His difficulties are 'severe', I'm don't think that provision for mild learning difficulties would be sufficient.
You're advise appreciated.

Have you looked on the CReSTeD website? There is a school in Lichfield called Maple Hayes that is a school for dyslexics, but it is not on the CReSTeD site. Could you consider a boarding school further afield?

I have a son who is 15, we looked for many years for the appropriate school that could meet his needs. We then we discovered Bredon when all our troubles and anxiety ended My son is so happy and thoroughly enjoys it making excellent progress.

Tewkesbury www.bredonschool.org/‎
Bredon is an independent day and boarding school welcoming boys and girls of all abilities aged from 4 to 18, specialising in Dyslexia, Dyspraxia
There are various pick up points that cover a wide area,
If your child has a statement there is a good possibility that the LEA may either fully fund or part fund.
