Really feel like I am losing control of everything, had another crap week, dd getting over a virus, freaking out over building work (walls being knocked down, thick dust everywhere, half a kitchen, half a bathroom), she had a school trip on Wed and had to go in a real air raid shelter then they set the siren off! FFS, she also had a sponsored walk (struggles with routine change etc),builders in and out, poor thing understandably has been waking at night even more than usual.

DH having an uncertain time at work, bringing work home etc, got to somehow get a video done of dd to send to RDI consultant by next week, lounge is full of kitchen drawers, can't find anything, no oven/microwave so having to take kids out for tea (nightmare of eating out in public etc.)

Trying to get to grips with dd's new interventions S.I.D., sleep therapy, RDI etc etc
Family 300 miles away (not that they would offer) and a dh who is out of house 7am to 8pm!!

Sorry rant over....

Hugs WWM. Sometimes it all comes at once, doesn't it? Try projecting yourself ahead a couple of weeks and most of it will be over by then. It works for me.

And don't be too hard on yourself. You're allowed to feel overwhelmed from time to time. There ain't no such thing as superwoman!

Blossomhowl · 06/10/2005 11:20

Monica honey

Is there anyway you can get any help from SS with direct payments. May be able to make your life a little bit easier. Wish I could do/say more to help.

Hugs Blossom xxxxxx

Blossomhowl · 06/10/2005 11:25

Oh and just wanted to also add I frequently feel like I am cracking up so you are not alone xxx

Jayzmummy · 06/10/2005 15:21

YES!!!!

LadyFioOfTipton · 06/10/2005 15:55

hello monica are you my twin

JakBat · 06/10/2005 19:29

Oh love. Poor you. What a nightmare. Can you come round to ours for tea? Or would DD find that just as hard? When is the building work going on until? Can we get out and take your mind off it?
And it is bloody difficult with the DH scenario- they're out all day and it is a mare at the moment

MABS · 07/10/2005 19:24

oh Monica hun, so sorry to read this. Let me know when you might be able to escape for a vodka nt and we'll sort it. xxx

wickedwitchmonica · 07/10/2005 21:26

Thanks for all your lovely comments The "woe is me" feeling is slipping (thanks to a large glass of Bloosomhowl, I mean Bloosomhill ) Dh bless him has just given me a good talking to and told me he thinks I am doing loads of excellent RDI stuff with dd (think I do put myself under too much pressure sometimes Karenthirl!) Also had a fantastic reply from RDI consultant after I had updated him with how things we were going, he couldn't believe what an excellent start we had made and feels dd "is ready to just blossom!"

BH don't feel ready to access direct payments, I think mainly because I know so many other amazing mums who cope with far more than I have to (on here and in real life JakB/RnB) and I feel it's so difficult to get I would feel guilty and prefer more deserving families to have it IYKWIM.
Would love to get to a meetup though honey and catch up xxx
Mabs I would so love to meet up can we book something in nowfor definite? for November sometime?? xx

Also feel better having spoken to JakB, who always manages to make me laugh, and was so positive and understanding (even with all the crap she has to deal with!!!)I can now take myself out of crisis mode ....

wickedwitchmonica · 13/10/2005 11:01

Hi Mabs possibly 11th/12th could do following weekend if better, nothing much on in November apart from our 12th wedding anniversary but highly unlikely I will be whisked off anywhere!! Would be good if we could organise so RnB/JakB/Custardo can make it too??

DH is even talking about moving house now ARRGGHHH

you are not alone. So sorry I havent been in touch recently I really hope you are OK. Vodka night sounds like a good plan. Whos house? Welcome to come here.

Hi Monica, sorry to hear things are all a bit much at the moment. I'm sure you're doing a great job. It always sounds so spoilt, but I HATE having decorators or builders in, its so disruptive and they make such a bloody mess! I always have to remember to buy sugar cubes too (DS empties out bags of sugar etc) and they are the only people ay know what take something so common as sugar

MABS · 17/10/2005 19:30

have emailed you girlies with poss dates xx

JakBat · 17/10/2005 19:41

Heh Monica, Mabs etc. Vodka night sounds EXCELLENT! When?
ps Davrosnobbos, I take sugar! (only since DS, so knackered need as much of a kick as possible)
