Dd2 is seeing OT tomorrow after a 2 year fight, she has ASD/HFA? and some sensory issues. What can OT do to help her?

I'm trying to write a list of things to tell and ask OT but i'm not getting far.

Some OTs do Sensory Integration Training (which you definately want).

We also got classes on dressing skills and handwriting.

Thanks Indigo, dressing skills would be great and she still cant hold a pencil corectly (although she can write).

Oh and sometimes they do the listening program or theureputac listening. My OT can do it if you ask for it but the waiting list is about a year.

If they don't do sensory integration training I think they should still be able to give you a sensory diet.

gross and fine motor skills, planning of movement and thoughts, sensory issues. Initially it will be an assessment and taking a case history, then probably a programme fo sessiosn and home exercises. Maybe access to equipment to help her concentrate and get less tired such as cushions, grips and writing slopes.
