WHY CAN'T HE JUST POO IN THE TOILET???!!!? Angry Sad

Vent all you like.

How old is he?
Have you been toilet training long?

By the way I can trump(bad choice of word there) a pooey bath with pooey walls. DS was a prolific smearer.

devientenigma · 06/01/2011 19:20

and that's when the bath is shared with the hubby lol x

devientenigma · 06/01/2011 19:23

my hubby and son still sometimes have a bath together......but years ago he was sharing with our daughter when he was showing her how to splash out the water from his mouth iyswim, he just put his mouth in the bath when it came floating towards......
my son also smears and eats it, if he gets the opportunity....we always have to be shit hot!!

nameymacnamechanger · 06/01/2011 19:26

He is 6, in age 8-9 clothes..... and nappies.

He wees fine in the toilet but it has taken years to get him sitting on the toilet he's rather phobic and he's had constipation issues too so is now on tw different meds to keep his bowels regular.

Oh we've had the pooey walls too - once - I freaked out majorly and I think I actuallly traumatised him into never doing it again.

I feel like a failure about it all and I fucking hate autism. Bad day. Sad

nameymacnamechanger · 06/01/2011 19:27

I don't have a hubby.

OP posts:
Debs75 · 06/01/2011 19:34

You're not a failure!
I hate autism too but I love ds and I'm sure you do too.

Things take time and at 6 he is quite young, my ds is 12 and only just able to be dry at school during the day. He still poos in a nappy but at least we are down to once a day not 6 times a day. At 6 he was smearing on walls everynight.

nameymacnamechanger · 06/01/2011 19:37

Of course I love him, I'm just having a moment. Grin Blush

It's encouraging your ds has made progress, I used to be optimisitc about ds and his toiletting issues but I think my optimism about it all faded away. Sad

My DS likes to bounce in the middle of the night, talk very loudly, or sing. Apparently sleep is not needed. Hmm

TheArsenicCupCake · 06/01/2011 19:47

Oh when ds (nt) was toilet training he whipped of his pants and stood there and pooed straight on the carpet.. I turned about to grab some wipes , turned back and saw him doing the twist ... Grinding the poo into the carpet and laughing his head off!

I lost it and cleaned him up with a cold flannel and some very harsh words! ( before putting him in the bath!.. And then having to hold him and the dog away from the poo carpet from he'll whislt I cleaned that up!

All with ex stood there just yelling and going totally freaky I mean totally freaky! It was probably one of the lower moments of my life ( I was only 21/22 at the time!)

TheArsenicCupCake · 06/01/2011 19:53

Ds1 that should say!
Ds2 hates goopy things < phew>

And with regards to hubbies... There really are some gems out there who are happy to be a family in an SN household!
I found DH when I certainly wasn't looking.. He stopped for a cuppa and never left.. And totally fell in love with ds2! ( ds1 took a bit longer lol).. He's so so patient with him and can listen to starwars talk for hours... And was happy enough getting stuck in with ds2 pukefest stage!

nameymacnamechanger · 06/01/2011 20:07

That's nice about your DH Smile
I was laid in bed last night with DS on one side laughing manically in his 'sleep' and the dog Hmm on my other side and I burst into tears!!! Blush I can't ever see a man walking into my life and thinking 'ooh I'd love to be a part of this'. Sad Hmm

Well I have just got DS out of the bath (it was a fresh bath I hadn't left him in the pooey water) into his pjs and put him on curious geoge upstairs (bad mummy), dried down every surface of the kitchen and bathroom from his splashing, and binned two more bath toys - one snapped clean in half and one dismantled. Sigh.

I think I might have a baileys.

OP posts:
TheArsenicCupCake · 06/01/2011 20:11

I'll pour you one! Ice?

Ds2 breaks absolutely everything! It's a nightmare.
He just wants to know how it works, what's inside or how strong he is! Gah... You have my empathy!

Wasn't being boasty about dh .. I just wanted you to know.. Sometimes people really do just walk into our SN lives!

AuntyPolly · 06/01/2011 20:44

Nameymac- would you like a snack with the Baileys which TheArsenic is pouring you? Consider it done..
I spent the early hours of almost every day of the Xmas holiday (holiday- hahahahaaargh becomes totally manic) scrubbing DS's offerings off the walls, carpet, bed etc etc. By the time I had go to the washing machine on some days he was well into round 2. I am not sure whether to (1) try putting DS on Freecycle (2) enter him for the Turner Prize (3) keep calm and carry on....I got so paranoid about the house smelling like an open sewar I bought air freshener and sprayed it everywhere and now the house smells like an open sewar in the ladies loos at a third rate hotel- nice. Any man who tried to walk into our lives would need gum boots and a gas mask...
Be strong- and enjoy the Baileys.

nameymacnamechanger · 06/01/2011 20:44

Aw thanks {slurps baileys}.

Don't worry you didn't sound boasty, more like pleasantly surprised! Grin

Sounds like my ds - his favourite things to break are bath toys and disney dvds. Hmm He also likes to know how things are made/work, all well and good unless he's taking things apart or questioning you in the middle of the night/ crack of dawn!

OP posts:
TheArsenicCupCake · 06/01/2011 21:10

Ahhh DVDs and CDs .. Ds if he could get hold of them would rub them on the floor ( wooden) in circles.. The amount he ruined! ( we thought we had put them out of reach!)

ds once pooed in his bath seat which was a joy to clean as it all mushed through the mesh

TheArsenicCupCake · 06/01/2011 22:01

Glittery I won't let you kill the thread with seived poo! :)

glittery · 06/01/2011 22:09

cheers Arsenic! Grin

intothewest · 06/01/2011 22:09

Oh yes-poo in the bath and shouting ,chattering and singing at night- sounds like my house- You put them in the bath to get them clean;then you have to grab them out of the bath...clean the bath...run a new bath(probably with ds screaming 'want bath, want bath -') I really DO know how you feel !!

TheArsenicCupCake · 06/01/2011 22:10

:) had to be done!

( took me a while to recover from Reading it though! Lol)

glittery · 06/01/2011 22:18

took me a while to recover from cleaning it! Confused Grin

Debs75 · 06/01/2011 22:53

DS had a phase with dvd's, he would poke his finger through and spin them round. One day his finger got stuck and we couldn't get it out for ages. In the end we cracked the disc, which he did not like.

Be optimistic about toilet training but remember be realistic. School first starting trying with ds when he was 5, then at 8 then at 10 and finally at 11, he is 12 next month and we are finally cracking it. He can be dry for a long while but poo is a different matter as he is so sensory and likes the feel of it. Should maybe get him some clay to squish with.

Don't think I was being off before I have been where you are and know how you feel. Hope the baileys is helping. I am breaastfeeding so my outlet is cake, and lots of itSmile

purplepidjin · 06/01/2011 23:04

Namey, have a second Baileys and a slice of the ginger cake I just took out of the breadmaker. I don't have DC's but have cleared up a few smears in my time. Picking it out and using it to slide along the floor? (That's known as a chocolate spread-room.) Eating a plastic bag, waiting for it to come out, then eating it again... Using it as lube during "quiet time"... Picking the bits out of someone else's vomit is still quite a classic in my mind Smile

nameymacnamechanger · 07/01/2011 20:59

Thank you all for replying last night and keeping me for screaming into a pillow! Grin I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't vent on here, people I know in RL make the right soothing noises but they don't truely get it because they don't live it day in day out.

I had a very large baileys last night and a crunchie and then went to bed very early only to find DS and the dog in there Hmm Grin, I'm pretty sure it's my bed but they seem to be having none of it!

OP posts:
r3dh3d · 08/01/2011 09:26

I'm glad the baileys helped.

DD2 is now trained to spot "brown dolphins" and sound the alert, leaping from the bath like a spawning salmon. We had a Dolphin Incident last night. And a leaky nappy this morning. In fact, it was so leaky that once I've got breakfast cleared up I need to change my trousers because I incautiously sat on the bed to get DD1 up. Haven't been barfed on for a couple of days, but the morning is young yet.Hmm
