I am painting the boys room before they get back tomorrow night.. ( getting rid of the inherited dodgey colours that irrate ds)..
Some previous numpty has put something on the Walls and dots keep coming through the blooming paint..
They are all over the bedroom ... I have tried sealing them but still they come through!

At this rate I'm going to be up all night sorting it out because I need the room to be totally aired out before ds gets back!

I've been at it since lunchtime.. And I still have to put the room together and all the sensory stuff up and out.

Aghhhhhhhh

Post over on property / DIY. They're fantastic over there and will have a solution I'm sure.

I'll be back in a bit... I reckon the Walls are dry enough now to bash it again!

What did you use to seal it? I tried a spray on one that was good when DD drew on the walls with washable markers. If not could you sand it off? Im probably too late anyway! I hope you got it sorted. :)

Wooohoooo I'm done!

I cheated in the end and looked in my art box for a suitable cover up! What ever it was .. It was oil based.. So oil paint on the dots made them disapear :)

room all sorted and sensory corner all done .. :)

Arsenic - are you sure you don't want to do SN interior designing - sensory rooms, de over sensoryising bedrooms - quiet space decorating - rather than occupational therapy? Grin

TheArsenicCupCake · 03/01/2011 22:35

:) is there even a job in that? Lol

no if we can afford me to dh is up for my career change :) wooop whoop!
I would like to go more into the sensory side of ot though.. Changing things for ds has made a huge difference to his quality of life!

I have a friend that re-trained as an OT from theatre costume designer. It takes quite a while. I'm looking to re-train, but i'm still debating as to what. Part of me thinks TA - but another part of me would like to be a dietician or nutritionalist, but there's a shed load of science and ££££ in training. Ho hum, what to do

TheArsenicCupCake · 03/01/2011 23:12

Difficult one.. And the ££££ signs are flashing through my head too... If I can earn enough in weird hours ( which is what I do anyway.. ) it will be feasable ( sp).
I've also got ds1 to get through med school starting soon ish ( he's just finishing gcse's.. But it's soon if I'm thinking retraining)...

If I win the lotto aunty I'll help you out!

Ditto re the lotto!
I have a DS (8) who wants to be a Dr. Sits and reads his medical books religiously - should i start saving now?!!! Grin

TheArsenicCupCake · 03/01/2011 23:37

:) yes start saving! Luckily we started a small savings pot for each of the dc's when they were babies... Having been to uni myself I just assumed they would.. But I never thought ' doctor' < faint> .. for a whe ds1 wanted to go into law.. But changed his mind in year 10.. ( luckily he had chosen good options!)..
Never really thought I might want to pay for meto retrain at the same time though!

Another ditto. My DH is lucky, his company pay for any training related to his job, so finished his masters this year. We have saved each month for our 3, but my DH keeps insisting it's moving out when they're 18 fund. he reckons the problem with using it for education is that when they've finished, they move back!
