Just gluten free

Our DS (6, ASD) is a gluten addict. I'm not sure it helps his behaviour. He literally only eats bread and butter, sandwiches (with sweet fillings) and the occasional happy meal, oh and ice cream.
He sometimes has yoghurts and cheese slices.

Do you think it's worth swapping his bread to GF bread? I'm not sure if we could go dairy free too as it'd be a massive change for him.

We haven't done the Sunderland test (yet) btw.

His erm, poo isn't too bad generally and he's on the 95th percentile for height and weight and so isn't exactly tiny or thin.

Any mileage in this? or is it better to di the urine test first?

Gluten and casein are so similar that the chances are that if he has a problem with one, he may have a problem with the other.
If you get the test done you will know the best course which is ( in my experience) better than pissing about taking out one just for him to massively increase his intake of the other.

My sons bowel problems were mild initially but became worse over time. The thing I tried to remember was that whilst I was only reacting mostly to his poor behaviour, he was doing damage to his gut and dealing with the discomfort of his issues with both all the time I was humming and haa ing.
