The apointment came this morning, i was a little Hmm as we have asked 3 times for OT imput and been refussed for an assesment due to staff shortages and OT no longer seeing ASD children.

A few weeks ago i had to write something for dd2's statemnt review, i mentioned OT in the letter (as well as music therapy, more SALT etc..), i didn't think anyone would actually take any notice of me but someone must have.

All i need to do now is get OT for dd1 who actually needs it more than dd2 but again we have been refussed. Dd1 had an apointment come through for a different pead a few weeks ago to acess her for low muscle tone and possible dyspraxia but a week later i had another letter cancelling and asking me to contact my gp (who has not got back to me). So poor dd1 still does not have a dx for her movement problems and to physio Sad.

Dd3 was assessed by OT a few weeks ago, the assessment was very thorough and covered alot. Dd3 turned out to be below average in her motor skills and visual perception but sadly she wasn't offered any support.

I have since be looking into getting her some help for her visual perception issues and have spoken to my sis who is a physio. She suggested going back to the GP to get help for her Motor issues, hypermobile joints and low muscle tone.
It seems that Dd3 would need to be only 1 percentile lower for her motor skills to be Dxed dyspraxic!!Xmas Hmm.

I hope your OT's can offer more support han ours although Dd3 was only referred to them as part of the Dx process.

I think leonie hits the nail on the head about them being girls.Xmas Hmm.

Good luck.

It is a mess Sad, i think we will have to change GP's as dd1's GP doesn't see a problem, i have the school on my back asking if she has seen OT yet, the school have writen letters to her GP and tried to refer her but with no joy Sad. She can hardly walk up stairs and has to go down them on her bottom, she can't run very fast and can't ride a bike, the GP seems to think this is normal for her Aspergers dx Hmm.

I don't think dd2 will get far with OT, her motor skills are a lot better than dd1's, dd2's problems are more sensory.
