Has anyone met with an LA officer at their home?

It seems to be quite difficult to arrange meetings with the LA because they always seem to want to do it at 10am or 2:30pm. Neither are really convenient because I have to use public transport and get DS off to school at 8:45 and he comes home at 3:45. I think I would feel more comfortable if it was on my territory as well.

Yes, but it isn't terribly cost effective.
A lot of people would like me to do home visits.
However it is a waste of money to pay me for driving from place to place.
Couldn't someone else meet or take your ds for once?

He goes in a taxi :)

I haven't had meetings with LA admin people at home - eg Case Officer, Panel members (same person!) etc.

I have had home visits form:

SALT
Ed Psych (was crucial to our case though, to prove that dd was not the mute catatonic child that he had seen in school)

We have also arranged La meetings at mutually convenient places - eg I met them at a local SN school as I was attending Earlybird there, and they were attending a meeting there so was convenient for both of us.

I have meeting with LEA person tomorrow at my home.
I never expected it actually, but he just offered when I rang up to arrange meeting. Since it does make life much easier for me I accepted his offer!
Looks like it was just as well as I have ds2 at home poorly, and don't imagine he'll be at nursery tomorrow either, so at least I can still have meeting whilst ds lies on the sofa!

I have, but then I live right next door to the LA's special needs department so it made practical sense at the time Xmas Grin.
