Ds is in EIB, really brilliant and cannot fault them at all, in fact i am made up that i feel someone actually recognises ds has problems, i fought with pre school re sen who said just speech delay, fine in everything else, wouldnt back me up for statment, the ep wrote a report that was not my son at all. Anyway i really feel srtongly that i should go back to the pre school and show them the 10 IEP's that have been put in place, he has other needs the eib say but these need to be addressed first, stuff like dressing, feeding etc, when he has p.e twice a week he has it with foundation 2 kids, on his iep it says that ds needs to have 1:1 during this as he has hypersensitivity to noise, and doesnt like change, also that ms teacher cannot undstand him and vice versa and he cannot concentrate. i am just a bit angry that i wasmade to feel really like an over acting parent by the pre school.

anyone with similar ??

I often feel like going back to my ds' primary school and pointing out that the child they said didn't need and would never get a statement has been offered full-time 1 to 1, that even the lea officer was surprised he didn't have a statement before now, that I've since found out that statements cover a lot more than just academic progress etc etc. However they do have a new senco now and I know she was an excellent class teacher so hopefully things are improving now for the children with sen.

I think you are right to be angry that they didn't take your concerns seriously and/or know enough about their jobs to recognise your child's needs. If you have the energy to do it, you could go back to them and point out where you felt they made a misjudgment for the sake of other children now under their care.

Good to hear your ds getting the support the needs now.Xmas Smile
