At my 20 week scan I discovered my DD lost her right arm due to ABS...

I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences that they might like to share with me!

I think Stringbean is right - you do get hit sometimes. There ARE things that ambush me and make my eyes well and my heart lurch - like DS is desparate for some 'nice shiny boots' like Willy Wonka - and the truth is, unless they are amongst the choice in the orthpaedic footwear catalogue, he won't be getting any.
But that's my eyes welling up - not his. He is matter of fact.

BUT (and I am thinking about OlliveOils thread about the reactions of SN mums to other people's problems) and I think some things do make life much tougher than others. Communication difficulties (including sensory and AS, for e.g), developmental problems, health issues, all tend to have a much greater afffect on teh child's life and that of the rest of the family.

That's why I didn't feel that DS's problems were much to be worried about once we had been told at the 20 week scan. It doesn't make the welling-up moments any easier when they do occur - but they are more like moments than a whole change to lifestyle.
