the listening programme

My son has been recomended to do The Listening Programme" has anyone out there benefited from doing it

It was offered to my dd2,who has speech delay,by our private SALT,so I would be interested to know too if anyone has been involved in it.

We have done it though have not noticed any benefits x

DS did it for few weeks.months at the beginning of the year. I noticed many improvement although some if may be because of the other therapies he received at the time or he was catching up developmentally.

1. Reduced sensitivity to noise; before he would overreact but now he just tunes out for few secs when it gets too much for him
2. Improved responsiveness with instructions he understood; before he would just choose to ignore you
3. Improved receptive and expressive speech
4. Started tolerating peers to parallel play always and even joining with their play
5. Started sitting down at meals for the whole duration (this may have been more around setting the boundaries)
6. Started singing most nursery rhymes from start to finish
7. Improved attention span
8. Started connecting sentences and used some learnt phrases in context

He really blossomed within few weeks earlier in the year which confused the therapists and delayed the dx.

I would definitely recommend it and hope it works for both of you.

i trained in it so I could give it to my DS. Hard to quantify effects but teachers thought his concentration improved. I went for it because I think the science is sound- excuse the pun. Have a look at www.advancedbrain.com for the research background info.

frineds son dd 'therapeutic listening' - similar to TLP. it was worth doing.
