severe idiopathic learning difficulties

Don't know if anyone can help but we have a 6yr old daughter who has been under assessment for the past 2 years in a special educational unit. The only diagnosis we have so far is that she has "severe (bottom 1%) idiopathic learning difficulties". She is physically well and fit. We are starting to look at long term and the help she will need both financially and practically. Is there any benefits, credits, concessions that we can get to help this ?

Suggest you repost on the main sen children board to get more advice but certainly you should have a look at dla on the directgov website. If your child receives dla, there are knock on benefits - you may then be entitled to additional child tax credits, reduced council tax for example. Does your daughter have a statement of sen for help at school?

no she doesn't , yet, we have been in this assessment process for the past 2 years.
