Hi all, as some are aware i am having serious problems with my just turned 5 year old girl.
We have been awaiting appointments since last march and after several appointments with peads and specialists, it was sugested that she has suspected ADHD!!
I have the appointment tomorrow to find out the DX and it is 1.5 hours long as child psych will be there.
If any one has been here before or has any advises, it would be gratefully appreciated.

PS: really dreading the outcome!!!

cheers jenk1, but i do always ring only to get the same answer.
The pead rung me eventually at 4.45pm to say that they will see chloe every 3 months for assesment, but they are still sticking to their guns about not having ADHD!!!!
Apparantly is not common for children with ADHD to conform at school, in fact there words were extremely few children!!!!!
Well i have been told different, but i can't argue any more as they just won't listen, and i don't have the time or the energy to get no where again!!!!!
I will try and do the best that i can until i reach the point of a nervous breakdown of which i have been close to before, but i have to keep thinking of the kids and taking the meds that i am prescribed.
They will do another conners at the end of school year, so only another 10 months to go!!!!!!!!!
Until thrn, they will monitor the situation but other than that NOTHING!!!!

i took chloe into class this morning as it was raining, i spoke to the teacher to say how well she is doing with her reading @ home.however the conversation changed to a rather different topic, HER BEHAVIOUR!!!!
She informed me that the school doc had been in contact for information about chloe now that she is in a new class, and she said to be truthful i had to be honest.
Over the past month she has been very fidgety and fairly loud and abruptive, but she put it down to settling in new class.
This morning she has now told me that chloe has been told off 7 times this week for disrupting and intrerupting the class. Yesterday, she had to have a quiet word with chloe as when the teacher was talking to HM in class, chloe came over and started interupting, when asked to wait and sit down, she started prodding her quite hard to get her attention!!!!
well is the start.
i have a meeting next tuesday with the teach to discuss her behaviour and review her IEP.
Do you think i should ask her to contact the pead, or just wait and see if she clams down.
I dont want to make the teacher feel negative towards me, when she has so far been great and very honest and helpful!!???
What do i do???

Butty,
I'm glad the teacher has told you this. It is worth meeting with her and finding out what the score is and discussing your assessment with them. Teachers often want to tell parents good things about their children and shield them a bit from the bad. If they know the problems you are having, they may feel able to be more open and to be more observant about Chloe's behaviour. If they have real concerns, it's definitely worth letting the paed know and also the ed. psych. for your school so that they can become involved as quickly as possible.
There is now quite a lot of specialist knowledge around about assessing and managing children with complex attention/behavioural difficulties and it is important your dd has help as soon as possible. Let us know how the meeting goes. Hopefully it will help you get the support you need for getting the medics on side.

Hi, this weekend has been peaceful as chloe is at her cousins to give me a break!!!!!
I am seeing the teacher on tuesday to review her IEP and set a diary for her behaviour in class so that she can keep record of any incidents.
I shall see how this goes.

can anyone give me advise on how to intervine with chloe and dylan???
She is being really nasty towards him at the mo and this morning she smacked him round the head pretty hard!!!!Everyday pushed or smacked him for the past 6 - 7 days.!!!
I know there is sibling rivalry but given dylans disabilities and also chloe's ongoing behaviour issues, i want to tackle the matter as best i can without causing a massive feud.
She doesn't listen and poor dylan does not understand!!!!!!!
God i hate life at the mo!!!!

i had the meeting with the teacher yesterday, it went really well and she was really supportive.
She has noticed chloes behaviour turning and feels that it is more than pushing her boundries, she said that she can be quite scary at times!!!!!
Well at least she sees what i and others see on a daily basis.
She has kindly offered to keep a chart of her daily behaviour and has said that when chloe has her next appointment with pead begin of december, that i can take it with me as back up from the school.
I hope that this will make them see?? but then again, they'll probably have another ewxcuse by then!!!
Sorry i have no faith with this doc any more!!!!!
