insurance and powerchairs

ds has a powerchair that was funded privatley and wanted to make sure was covered by insurance my home insurance will not cover more than £5000 limit per item which is no good as to repalce his chair is around £19 k if anything was to happen to it

so what do othe r people do ?

ds's chair isnt insured either.
i think a lot of people just get liability insurance incase their dc damages anyone or anything with it.

heres a few companies i found when i did a google...

EPC
Fish
Chartwell
Premier Care

seems to range from £40 - £75 depending on cover.
Some of them will do a warranty as well

ty was just sorting out home insurance and its the one thing i could not afford to replace if anything happened to it

Could you not insure seperately against theft and damage. Not sure you'll be able to get any company to include it as part of the house insurance and even if you do the premium may be enormous
