Currently i order my ds medical supplies through a delivery guy hired by the community nurses. i was wondering does anyone know if i can order them straight from the company as he is terrible, it takes weeks if not months to get anything, he never delivers the right stuff and he never turns up when he is ment to.

This is awful. Have you spoken to the community nurses? Do they know how bad he is? write.everything down as it happens and tell the nurses. What sort of supplies are they - we get two sorts tube feeding stuff and incontinence products and they each come from companies that have a contract with the pct. They have regular timetables so your situation sounds unusual. Getting the stuff yourself might be more difficult -especially if the pct have a contract with this

hi starfish. i have spoken to the community nurses before and made a formal complaint, they were pretty disgusted with him especially when he posted catheter bags through the letter box, but things do not seem to have improved. i will call them tomorrow and try again just thought it might be something else to think about. it should be regular here. we are divided into areas the first orders in the 1st week of the month and has it delivered in the second. then the second area does the same in the last two weeks. i get syringes and catheter bags and related produces like g straps, luckily i know how useless he is so i also keeps a few emergency bits back kinda like a survial pack.

My experience with catheter stuff was with my late dad. That was a shambles too! The district nurses were supposed.to tell the doctors.what to prescribe but didn't and then we had to find a decent pharmacy who would get the stuff rather than telling us they would and then a week later that they could not. At one point he had three years supply of instilagel!
We keep extra tube feed stuff. i get fed up.with having it all.over the house but need to.as i don't trust them - having just had another delivery with out of date.products.

it really drives my nuts, with everything else that needs sorting, or fighting for, you would think this would be simple. i agree totally with getting fed up with it all laying arround the house, but it has to be done. i even put shelves up to store the stuff but i dont like that either.

Shock at the out of date products, that has to top no delivery, it's a good job you check i never think to look, and an now about to check everything.

We get growth hormone for my DS2 delivered by the drug company as part of their homecare service. They also bring needles and sharps bins and take them away. Our GP sends the prescripion direct to them. Is this an option?

kittyfu · 25/11/2010 18:04

i will look into getting it from the gp. i had my delivery today, well half of it anyway

Hope you get the rest soon.
Getting the gp and a good pharmacy on side might be a good plan.

I'm still waiting for the replacement for the out of date stuff. Was due yesterday but they rang as they didn't have any. Now expecting it today. ....(good job it's not urgent....yet!)
