I think this has been a round for a while?? I know the kids who had family based short breaks with foster carers I worked with were technically LAC when they had one or two nights a month with another family,

Though I understand the terms are emotive and everyone feels differently. And I believe most of your dcs are getting respite in centres not familt homes?

It does mean however that there are more resources/training/support available for people who provide short breaks, if the children are LAC then the foster carers have access to all the training and other stuff that full time foster carers get,

I am not minimising your anger and unhappiness, but I have never heard anyone over a number of years imply that being LAC for respite implies parents are not doing the caring...

It may just be a 'change of terms' thing and should not link to changes in service.

Hope that helps... Hmm

thanks
I have noticed that the LAC reveiw lady is very helpful, she seems very keen to help and support us.
