I'm interested to hear if anyone has experience of using Bibic, particulary in relation to ASDs. Was it useful?
DS1 is 3.5 , so if I'm going to do it I'd like to try while he is still so young.
Thanks

we went with DD1 in June, she has HFA and they were great for her. Really gave us insight to the way she works and how best to get what we want from her. Completely understanding and very good at what they do.
The treatment plan they send home is easy enough to do but you need time for it, both DDs love it. We are hoping to go back next year for DD2. :)

Thank you, I am really pleased it was a positive experience for you.
I think I was worried that the treatment plan would involve lots of therapy we can't afford. So it's all stuff that you can do yourself with your DD?

Yes apart from the listening programme but you can choose to do that or not. For DD1 is was alot of sensory issues, so lots of experiences of different smells, different textiles and hot and colds. They also did us a CD to use at home, sheets to use at school with ways to discuss changes ect.
I would highly recommend it :)

We had the outreach team from bibic round last week to see our DD (3.8). They were fantastic, although I was a bit :( to have my fears on possible ASD confirmed.

I think we are probably doing the same therapy programme as lisa. It takes 20-30 minutes a day.

I think I'll make the call on monday!

I found Bibic really good also. My son although down syndrome has dx traits of other dx's including asd. As he has many problems they said they couldn't tackle them all in one visit, so we have a similar programme to lisa, including the cd and sensory stuff. We were offered the listening programme too, however my son was already doing this at school via the OT's, so that venue may be worth looking into.
Our next visit will involve reassing, adding to our programme and letters written highlighting his autistic and adhd traits and why it is important a dx of these is given rather than stating they are traits, so should be interesting.

Great to hear about positive experiences. DS2 still has a nap, so I could manage 20-30 minutes a day.
Devient, it's an interesting point about getting a dx of ASD rather than stating just traits. DS1 has a dx of ASD, but now I think it's obvious he has LD as well. He was only 2.5 when dx, so they said he may or may not have LD. Something I can discuss with Bibic.
Thanks again all.

I can really really recommend it. We've just had our 2nd visit. The program they've set us is totally manageable and on the mark. DD2 has had weekly Physio/OT/SALT since 11 months (she's now 3.5yrs) and BIBIC has brought her on so much more than any of that other therapy we had.

They really get DD2, and it's so nice to be with other families who are in the same boat. Met a couple of lovely people this time.
