How will i know when the right time is to try and get dd potty trained - she's 3 1/2 and had cerebal palsy she can physically sit on a potty but mentally she doesn't understand some things so how do i know when the time is right ?

Did you post about this a while ago FD? I meant to answer a thread on this. Ime, with a child with SN you won't get the signals etc that an NT child will give you. I never understood what people meant about "signals" as DS never gave them but DD just suddenly started wanting to use the potty etc and caught me by surprise! Without knowing your child, I wouldn't want to say just get started regardless, but can you ask your GP or CDC what they think? Just as a second opinion? I think if most of us waited until our Sn kids were "ready" it would never happen. From the day we started to the day I can honestly say I didn't even think about pull ups etc was a year so it can certainly take time but within that year there was slow, steady progress. HTH.

Have you spoken to your OT about equipment?

Ds2 is pretty much trained now at 4 1/2, but he is still wet at night. He doesn't always tell me, he prefers to sit and rock backwards and forwards for a while instead of admitting he needs a wee. Have you noticed anything she does before she goes, that you could use as a signal to get her on the loo?
