I don't have anything major this week -just an OT appointment this morning -but best of luck to all those who have more pressing meetings.

I hope you don't mind me taking advantage of this? I start a new job with adults with SN today, am bricking it somewhat!

Have one back {{{{{squidge}}}}} for anyone else in need :)

Thanks..am feeling low this week as I think I have been a bit in denial that DD could have something progressive, if top neurologists are concerned about it, was sure it wasn't but now I keep thinking it might be something very slowly progressive which will rob her of her skills. Not got our worrying tertiary referral appt til 22/11 though.

DD not well today either, horrible cold.

ShadeofViolet · 08/11/2010 08:22

Good luck to everyone who has important appt this week.

DS's isnt too important, but I am dreading seeing the Ed Psych, and he has an SN dentist appointment tomorrow too - Im dreading that even more as I hate the dentist and I know DS wont co-operate.

Good luck with the job purplepidjin and I hope DD feels better soon fanjo.

Good luck to all too.
Not sure if this will be our important week or not, but hoping it will be the one where we finally hear if LA has agreed to name the special school we have requested, or whether we are on the long road to tribunal (it's a non-maintained one so expecting the latter).

Wishing good thoughts to all those with worrying appointments, too. All we've got to do this week is collect some new Piedro boots for DS2 to kick his brother and everything else with. It's a lovely new trick he's learnt Hmm

Smallmonkfish · 08/11/2010 13:00

Yes good luck to all.

We have meeting with genetics person tomorrow, maybe more news on microdeletion and if it is safe enough for us to have another child.

As an SN mum there's always something to worry about isn't there!

purplepidjin · 08/11/2010 17:09

Thank you, SOV. I think I'm going to like it there. I've already been signed up for the Nativity and Christmas Fayre (I play the piano) and, from what I've seen so far, would be happy for DNiece to live there if she was an adult :)

TheArsenicCupCake · 08/11/2010 18:40

Hope all goes well for you all ( hugs)

Good luck to you all.
We find out this week at a multi-disciplinary meeting thingy re school for DS. Yikes!
Am trying not to think about it too much. I loathe people talking about DS's weaknesses.

purplepidjin · 08/11/2010 19:04

@Leonie, best of luck for the outcome you want

@ghouls, with my NVQ Bollockspeak hat on - they're not "weaknesses" they're areas to improve

ghoulsforgodot · 08/11/2010 19:56

Leonie-hope it goes ok for you tomorrow x

Lougle · 08/11/2010 20:16

I hope everything goes well for you all Smile

I have to take DD1 for a blood test tomorrow. She is petrified of blood. Seriously petrified.

I am petrified of the possible outcome. But more worried about her regression. Weeing in inappropriate recepticles is the latest thing - she is 5 next month. Also, pooed in her pull-up a few nights ago, didn't seem to know she had done it. Poo accident at school today needing change of pants. She has been dry and poo continent since 2.6 Confused

ghoulsforgodot · 08/11/2010 20:33

Good luck too Lougle!
Has DD been under the weather? This sometimes knocks DS off balance a little

Lougle · 08/11/2010 20:43

Thanks ghouls, no I don't think so. tired, a little. But generally just wobbly, falling more, can't jump but had been able to clear the floor by about 1.5cm before. Couldn't climb on the doctors couch this week, but at previous appts had climbed up, then up towards an open window. Less tremor since stopping lamotrigine, but head has started to slump to the side when sitting, I have noticed. Lots of clumsy accidents, walking into climbing frame, falling off of trike, slicing finger on bike handlebar, colliding with the sofa, etc.

She has had a growth spurt, so possibly less muscle tone because of that. But now waking every night without fail, singing Shock and calling her sister. Bed sheets wet despite wearing pullup. Emotional outbursts.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/11/2010 21:22

Sorry, I know how stressful regressions are Sad

Hope you get the results quickly and there is a simple explanation.

My DD seems to regress with even a mild ear infection, are her ears clear.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/11/2010 22:23

I also assume they have ruled out an epileptic cause, I know even subclinical seizure activity or abnormal brain waves during sleep can cause regression.

woolytree · 09/11/2010 08:15

Good luck Lougle.

Our work just got worse...DD has a vomiting bug, up all night. :(
