we went to a big display so no worries about not looking in the right place iyswim.

dd2 back on assessment route after xmas. but it was funny to watch dd2 react so different. she was very hyper afterwards as well. even as a toddler she loved fireworks.

Oh no. skipped them this year.

Last year we took ds to them and he didn't seem to notice them, but instead spent the whole display with his face pressed into the switched-on headlight of the pancake van.

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 05/11/2010 23:39

was funny :)
Misdees DD2 hoping about, my DD1 jumping and shouting BANG at top of her voice and DD2 bless her refused to watch them.

ouryve · 05/11/2010 23:46

We didn't bother. DS1 even gave upo trying to watch them out of the window. Had ore fun making paper aeroplanes and fans!

DS2 heard one go off on the way home from school and shouted BANG, too!!!!!! :o His second new word in a week!!! (the first being the name of his LSA)

DS loves them - lots of flapping and shrieking - he loved the bonfire too. I knew he would though which is why I took him in the buggy.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/11/2010 08:57

I'm pretty sure my DD would have liked it, if she actually looked at them, but she crashed out at 6.30 last night!!

WhizzBangPhlebas · 06/11/2010 09:20

ds loved them (big explosions are his thing) - think he was expecting x-wings & millenium falcons etc like the end of Star Wars though.

Ouryve 'bang' was one of ds' first words (from bonfire night last year) Grin

Ampersand44 · 06/11/2010 11:01

My DS pretty much oblivious to them - even though going off in next-door garden. That sort of 'oh I've seen one before, why would I want to look at another' thing Grin.

Tempted to borrow someone elses children so I can get to go to these things - same applies to pantomimes!

DS (4.8) is fascinated by fireworks. He thinks the colours are magical and loves to watch them from the window or on internet. We took him to a display last year and he couldn't cope with the noise. He was alright when we watched it in the car in the next street with the windows shut.
