God she's a gorgeous little thing Edisvold, thanks so much for sharing the pictures.
I'd love to get her and Lottie together one day.

lou33 · 18/08/2003 11:37

She is lovely Eidsvold. I particularly like the baby mohican at 7 weeks!

eidsvold · 18/08/2003 13:28

Rebi - there is a group for children with down's syndrome and a heart condition..

here

or the childrens heart federation - children with heart conditions ( not sure of their web address.

thanks again everyone - she really is very special to us.

Lou - Not sure if you had them here but you used to get troll dolls - she had a troll doll sitcky up hair style for ages until the rest finally grew in... when we would come down stairs of a morning when she was in hospital you could see where the nurses had been playing with her hair and running their fingers through it.

Thank you eidsvold - I will pass them onto my cousin.

lou33 · 18/08/2003 16:35

Dd1 used to have one Eidsvold, though nowhere near as cute as your dd. I can just picture the nurses playing with her hair, I don't think I could resist either!

Jimjams · 18/08/2003 16:38

she's gorgeous eidsvold!

ThomCat · 18/08/2003 16:46

That's funny about the mohican Edisvold & Lou - Lottie had one too. I love dit and would make it stick up even more. My childminder used to try and flatten it when she took her outin the pram but me and her hubby used to make it stick right up again!

Where did you get her car thing from? It looks really secure and a tight fit. lottie's fallen out of her little tike car too many times now - the little car in her picture looks perfect.

eidsvold · 18/08/2003 18:12

mothercare Thomcat although it is quite expensive for a lot of mainly plastic parts - it was £10off a little while age and dh's parents gave us some money to spend on her. We wanted to get her some sort of little car and that looked the most secure.

After feeling so depressed last week - you guys have just made my week... thanks

ThomCat · 19/08/2003 10:38

Glad you feel better this week Edisvold.
I also contacted L.O.A.D.S. myself to see if I can contribute or help in anyway as it's not a website I had heard of. Darren the chairman sent me a lovely email and is sending me some info and has asked for a little story from me about Lottie which I'm very pleased to do as I don't think you can have enough positive stories to read. So another good thing has come from you sending your wonderful pictures for us to see, so thanks for that as well!

katierocket · 19/08/2003 11:57

eidsvold, shes really, lovely. You must be proud.

eidsvold · 19/08/2003 15:23

oh TC I had heard that someone had contacted the chairman with a story ... it was you ... you sneaky!! Well done - I only agreed to have our story put on the website and in their magazine hoping that it would encourage others to do so.... Brilliant.

eidsvold · 19/08/2003 15:40

TC if you still have my email - or I think I have yours here somewhere I can send you more info about LOADS.... if you like.

I didn't mean to be sneaky, I just thought it would be nice / helpful etc to the website and to other mums.
I haven't given him a story yet. I just said that I had never seen his website before and well done etc etc and was there anything I could do to help, would he like a positive story perhaps to help other mums starting out on the SN road see that it isn't all bad. I feel very lucky that Lottie has no medical problems, to date, and she is the most wonderful child (biased I know!!) and want other mums to know that the same could be true for them etc etc. I feel truly blessed to have Lottie in my life and want to tell everyone that. If I can reassure anyone who is pregnant and will have a child with DS, or a new mother etc etc that that makes me feel really good.
So thanks for introducing the site to me.

What a cutie and what a beautiful name, she has a lovely squishy face and very pretty eyes.

Have to stop looking at pictures of cute squishy babies - makes me want to nip home and start making one of my own.

eidsvold · 19/08/2003 18:37

I was just joking Tc - sorry you felt a bit upset by it. I think it is brilliant you are adding your story - the more positive stories they have from regular people ( like me ) you could be a star for all I know the better. The original booklet has a lot of famous people and their stories... which of course is good to but I found it helpful to hear from regular people like me.... I look forward to reading your story

You are more than welcome for the intro to the website....

Your daughter is gorgeous, I'm feeling quite emotional just looking at those beautiful pictures and reading your story. A couple of months ago I lost a baby that had Down's Syndrome. Everytime I see a child with Down's Syndrome I get a tug at my heart and think 'what if'. She looks absolutly perfect to me.

eidsvold · 19/08/2003 20:03

oh hana how sad... words seem so inadequate.....

OP posts:
ThomCat · 20/08/2003 10:40

Hana - I'm so sorry. Liek Edisvold - there are no words really. Just a big hug {{{{{}}}}}}}}

Edisvold - I wan't upset hon', I was worried I'd peed you off when you said I was 'sneaky' and just thought I should explain why I contacted them that's all. It's all good - xx
