I expect they already did them but forgot to tell you. Have you asked?

Lougle · 04/11/2010 17:58

They will have set targets already. I am going to a parent-teacher consultation on Tuesday, so I expect I will see DD1's IEP then (Special school)

I asked this recently and Ampers kindly posted this:

c the third sub-section should describe the arrangements to be made for setting
shorter-term educational and developmental targets for the child. The targets
themselves should not be part of the statement but should form an integral part of their IEP. By their nature such targets will require regular review and revision while the longer-term objectives in sub-section 1 will not. The child?s school should devise the first IEP, in consultation with their parents and, where appropriate the child, within two months of placement at a different school, or immediately the statement is finalised if the child remains in the same school. The child?s achievements, in the light of the IEP,
should be reviewed at least twice a year by the school, and fully considered at the first
annual review of the statement when further targets can be set.

(my bold) Hope that helps - I presume your ds would count as having started in a new placement, so 2 months?

Just write a polite letter perhaps, stating 'Dear school, As you know we are going to tribunal over some aspects of ds' provision. I would therefore like to request a copy of ds' IEP targets. I appreciate very much the time taken to supply these. Thanks everso muchly....'

This is an important document FOR the tribunal as is shows that they haven't consulted with the parents over the content of the IEP etc.

Oh no. Home-school books disappear (unless you copy it before you hand it in).

lol good idea!! the school are pretty good, problem is ds needs one to one a lot, they provide it mostly at the moment, i want it in statement, the school and la say not necessary as he gets it anyway and school pupil to staf ratio is good and wont change, it is good in fact its excellent but it will change i know that for a fact, its 6 kids to 4 adults now, with another child starting in jan i know of and snother been looking around with a view to start, and the tol me no more kids will be in his class, there could still be more, he needs one to one at numerous times, they say 6:4 is good enough, statement just says "small groups when necessary" lol, and in jan it will be 8:4 at least possibly could change still and thats not 1:1 he needs b a long shot! oh its so annoying, school classroom staf are great its the la and her persuading head to say ds is doing well when reports say he needs lots of extra help from others on one to one basis!!! aaaah dont get me started!!!! will copy home school book now though they are very good at not putting bad in it, they phone me for that!!!
