The hairdressing fairy called in the night

I'm so fed up with fighting with DS to get one snip at his hair I waited until he was asleep last night and he was really tired and I gave him a haircut!

One side is better than the other but considering it's not looking to bad. :) At least he looks like a boy now.

The toenail cutting fairy comes to visit my DS in the night, though she can only manage one toe a night before he wakes up and she has to fly away :o

Hahahaha I cut DS's (NT, but three) hair the other day and it's pretty terrible. Am going to be quite ashamed when he goes back to school tomorrow!!
OTOH, you can see his face, which is definitely preferable.

Yes toenails next I think. Grin

I was thinking about this. DS2 (3) has ASD and is usually pretty manageable re nails etc, but cannot cope with haircuts at all. I am contemplating cutting in his sleep, his fringe is down over his eyes! Typical Murphys Law, he has the most gorgeous caramel-coloured thick curly hair.

Hate the thoughts of 'going at' him in his bed though. Feels like a terrible assualt in his place of refuge - he LOVES his bed, often crawls in there for a play when the world gets too much.

Oh yes, I do a haircut that happens over a week (school photos next week so I started last night) - a bit every day. The inbetween days he looks a bit strange.

I'm not the worlds best hairdresser but at least he doesn't look too bad when it's done.

I wish there was a tooth-brushing fairy...

DeadlyNightShadeofViolet · 03/11/2010 12:35

The toothbrushing fairy comes here whenever she can - she uses a baby finger toothbrush and sometimes it works okay - but she regually gets bitten :(

I had a good old LOL just reading the title of this thread!
If anyone knows the 'cleaning up after the demolition that they leave' fairy, can you give me the number as i need to call for help! Grin

I used to regularly cut Ds (5) hair when he had his day time nap, and his nails. Easiest way imo. Although I never did it in his bed because the hair in his bed would drive him nuts.

We now can cut his hair awake with a fair bit of fuss but he is getting better. toenails are still done when asleep.

Grin I thought this thread was going to be about your DS cutting his own hair during the night. DS often appears with a strange clump missing from his hair after 'getting bored' and having a go with the scissors himself!

He says he has no idea why one side is suddenly shorter than the other, we obviously get the hairdressing fairy calling at our house.
