Ahhhh, I am remembering you now, LucindaCarlisle, you are the very same poster who felt that while receiving Incapacity Benefit a JobCentre representative should have contacted you and suggested you train as a Social Worker

If you are in hospital, and a doctor or nurse doesn't explain what something is for in a way you can understand, you say "excuse me, I don't know what this is for." Even if that drug is as common as ibuprofen. You could say "I don't have any pain", then the nurse or doctor could explain that it is given to reduce inflammation or as a background painkiller to prevent more acute pain.
Stop whinging and get on with life. This is a nice section of MN. We give and get support here, and everyone is genuine and non-confrontational. That's the way we like it.
I don't like to see arguments over procedure, especially when one poster is so grossly misinformed, yet won't allow another poster to educate them.
The GP is a generalist - very good at giving diagnosis of general medical conditions, and expert at knowing when to refer on, and get specialist advice.
WetAugust is a very much respected poster on this board. She gives sound, good advice, with a good deal of her time invested in helping others on this board.
If you can't post constructively, may I suggest that you don't post at all?
