Know there's quite a few of you that have dc on gf diets and wondering how school dinners or cooking for those with older ones mange it should add ds is 13 nt and senisable enough to understand why not eating it but to shy to quiz dinner staff etc,Also ATM entitled to free school dinners and would prefer he eats hot food and need to keep calories up as is underweight

Ds2 is gluten/wheat free for a month not for asd or behaviour but see if it can help with the crohns as food diary seems to throw up link between that and bathroom dash

My DS school (hes coeliac) would only cater GF when my GP supplied a letter stating it.

Our school does gluten-free for one child - there is a poster in the kitchen with his name on it telling the staff which items from the fortnightly menu he can have.

Ok it's more getting a copy of what cooking and what's in it then ds can make his own choices but do wonder ic their pull the senior school trump card and to many children to cater for one ds normally joins the quick queue and grabs wrap or pizza know pizza out need check on wraps if know some days nothing can eat
ge can take lunch in

My school now we have the magic letter are brilliant. he cook sat down with me and went through the menus and we picked alternatives. I do send some stuff in though as the stuff she can get through the LA is horrid - gravy (like dish water so send in Bisto best, wraps - school can't get them so send in a pack of 30 at the beginning of term and they freeze them, pizza bases - theres like cardboard so send in prescribed ones) Puddings - he just has yoghurts/fruit anyway. I occasionally send in jam tarts.

If your doctor is in agreeance then you can get lots of this food free on prescription so the cost shouldn't be much more - thats if DS ill eat the stuff ..... Mine is 1 yr diag. and still won't eat most of the alternative food - prefers meat and veg.
