DS is now officially CF - how about GF?

DS1 had test results today. Not only is he sucrose and fructose intolerant - which we knew, he is also milk protein intolerant. Question to all of you who have gone on the GF/CF diet - what benefits in behaviour have you seen and has it been worth it?

Curious as ds2 is now got to go Gf not for asd/behaviour but for dietray reasons and am struugling how to replace food

CF is not going to be too much of a problem as 2 other DS are dairy free.
GF i would probably get my head around eventually - as i did with the fructose and sucrose.
Just really wondered what benefits people had seen. Does it help with concentration - moods and weepiness etc.
More importantly - did anyone try it and find no impact whatsoever?
DS2 is having a sample done at ESPA to see if he could benefit.

There is a similar thread here with a mum a bit further down the line and ADHD not ASD but it may be useful to you, especially regarding the foods listed.

Thanks - I'm just trying to brace myself and make the decision. DH has been working away - back tomorrow - i can imagine his face when i tell him the CF bit. He only sees things in £s.
DSs birthday this week - so I have told him that we will start after his birthday - so he can have a last blow out (I'm thinking cream here!)
I might get Christmas at the in-laws over with first before starting GF. I think her handling - with me - dairy, fructose and sucrose free for the first christmas is enough. GF might just push her over the top!

Apologies for multiple posting:

There is some disconnect between some parents experience and what studies done on gf and cf diets would suggest.

Although the evidence base is by no means good, it does suggest the need for caution.

Having said that, it is probably safe (with a dieticians input) and might be effective.
