How long did you sterilise your DC's bottles for?
DS is 17 months un-DX and always catching any bug going. And was wondering if im just being a bit precious by still sterilising his bottles. Blush

check with a GP/HV/paed that you trust. wouldn't have thought it necessary past 12 months though. do you mean sterilising just the milk bottles, or all drinks btw. a poster on here put a thread on a few years back about sterilising, she had a baby is SCBU and the staff there didn't think sterilising was necessary even for babies, I guess just washing thoroughly in hot soapy water was enough?

from what I remember much the same as riven or they went through my then working [sob] dishwasher.

To be honest, DS would pick up more bugs holding onto a shopping trolley than from any well washed bottle. If DS goes to nursery though you might as well throw in the towel now and let him roll in the mud Grin Don't think you are at all precious though, just completely neurotic along with all the other mums who love their DCs to bits! It gets easier (only slightly!)

yeah it is just his milk bottles & dummy -hes not feeding like a 17months should do hes still on very pureed foods and baby milk.
Im the dishwasher in this house lol so I think I might ditch the steriliser.
you have a good point weakandmilky probably more germs etc on his and his brothers toys YUCK!
Our portage worker was only saying the other day how parents make exceptions with their SN children that they would with their NT children and im guessing thats the sort of thing she meant lol.

Thanks x

I don't know what SNs your child has but usually, by this age, most babies, children are putting all kinds of things in their mouthes as well as their hands that have touched things and I wouldn't bother sterilising anything.

Thanks stark, he has developemental delay as a main problem but can put his toys, fingers & dummy in his mouth Smile so makes sense not to really.
