Have asked for a DLA reconsideration <chews nails>

DD1 was due for renewal in December. DLA received my papers in August, and uprated her to HRC/HRM. BUT they only uprated her from her renewal date in December.

I phoned today and spoke to a nice chap, who said they would need to get her papers back from the storage 50 miles away, and look at the date, then see if they can move it back to August.

I asked about the fact that they can downrate her, and he said that as she was only decided 2 weeks ago, they would have to have a very good reason to do so, and it is very very very unlikely, but it is possible.

So they are going to look at it, and I'll just quietly rock in the corner...but the difference is 15 weeks, so a lot to lose.

Sympathetic eyes here, Lougle Smile
Congratulations about the upgrade -I remember you worrying about the loooong wait -it's hell isn't it?

I think I would be doing the same as you -it will be a lot of money you would be missing out on otherwise.

Keep us posted. Did they give you any idea of a timescale?

Hope they make decide in your favour and you don't have to wait too long to hear.

Fingers are crossed Smile

thank you Smile

They said that they have to get the paperwork back, then look at it to see if they can award it earlier.

Lots of the evidence they used dates from Jan 2010, and the blue badge has been in force since July 2009.

I suppose I am nervous because she can walk, although is very wobbly, can't go out unrestrained, etc., so I worry that another decision maker will decide that she can put one foot in front of the other and move, so can walk, so no HRM.
