Incontinence pants

Has anyone here used washable incontinence pants with their child? I've decided to put ds1 in pants all the time including at night, as I feel it is my only chance of training him. I have some great bed pads that hold 4 litres! I have tried a pair of the Shiloh pants- seem quite good although I have now sent away for a smaller size. If anyone can recommend a different brand I'd be interested before I go ahead and order a load.

What size are they Eulalia? If they're the small ones I'll but them from you - I'll just check ds1's for sizing (we use ours during the day when they're fine).

It might be worth trying lou's bedwetter pants as I found that ds1 only really learns with cloth and not with disposables. I'll probably get a pair when we tackle nighttraining- will let you know how we get on.

I HATE sickness bugs btw- hope your dd is better soon. The same bug has been round ds1's nursery. I'm dreading it landing here.....

Thanks

I got the small ones jimjams because ds is quite skinny (3-4 years) - thanks - how do we go about this - can I leave my email address somewhere private for you?

I know I should get those bedwetter ones really but I can get fairly cheap nappies at Lidl which are good quality. It would take me several months to recoup the costs of just one pair and it looks like I'd need two. Will think about it.

dd is fine now. I am not used to sickness as we've all got stomachs like crocodiles. a child had an accident at mums and toddlers last Thur so I'd guess it was that.

Eulalia · 28/09/2003 13:45

jimjams - do you want all 3 pairs or just the one?

Jimjams · 29/09/2003 14:25

sorry - read this yesterday and meant to reply straight away but was interrupted and then forgot. Just the one pair please (I already have 5 but one more would be useful).

jimjams - I've asked mumsnet to send you an email so look out for one soon so we can sort out delivery of the pants.

thanks

dinosaur - there is a picture of the pants here bedwetter pants

My ds is the same - dry in the daytime but still wees a lot at night - I don't lift him but then again he does wear a nappy. I think the pants are quite thick so your ds may refuse them because they probably will feel a bit odd.

Just in case you were wondering I spent part of one evening collecting all this info.... never thought this is how I would spend my spare time!

dinosaur, I've just come across a waterproof duvet cover in PHP (www.thebabycatalogue.com) - this might save your dh from washing the duvet at least!! It's £20. There was also a waterproof duvet, but £42. Dd1 is also 4 and still wees for England during the night!

Jimjams · 30/09/2003 13:20

dinosaur- I got the pads from eulalia's 2nd link- shiloh. It's pretty good and they do waterproof duvet covers as well. It's worth ringing your local NHS incontinence dept as they'll send you lots of catalogues. They can give advice as well. Don't ask me anything at 4 and a half we haven't completely cracked days yet (although no wet pants at school today). I am the world's worst potty trainer

Ha ha yes dinosaur... strange thing is I quite enjoyed flicking through the catalouge I was sent!

The Shiloh firm are very good - its freephone and they were ok about returning the pants. They had even sent a postage label so I won't have to pay anything.

Jimjams · 30/09/2003 18:42

Eulalai- have you emailed me? I can't see it and am worried I've deleted it by mistake. I'll keep looking......
