dd came home from school and her driver told me her VOCA pole had been broken. the escourt was very clear that she had been told that it happened at respite.
so there is the pole in 2 bits....
so I ring respite
manager says oh no, then proceeds top tell me a long winded tale of how it had gone up to school, then had gone missing hmmm
school have not been in touch at all.
I am so angry that no one can just put their hands up and say "it was me"
(lucky for me dh is clever and has fixed it and it si now covered in labels telling idiots staff how to take it out)

oh and to replace costs over £100

sorry did not see this but been under rinfluence of alchol most of yesterday Holds Head in hands and asks for more paracetmol

There all busy covering their own backsides i would prefer someone to be honest and say sorry

devientenigma · 15/10/2010 09:58

lol 2shoes you sound how I feel...what's the point in posting as no one answers or everyone goes against what I say!! Hence my distance.
Anyway I'm glad it's fixed.
I have incidents like this, obviously not with a voca, however what I have started to do is ok argue amongst yourselves and tell me when it's fixed!!
Take care x

bullet234 · 15/10/2010 10:10

Glad it's fixed. Buck passing does indeed seem to have occurred.

misdee · 15/10/2010 10:36

bloody hell, thats not good.

i dont know what a VOCA pole is (sorry Blush), but am shocked no-one has admitted what has happened.

2shoeprintsintheblood · 15/10/2010 15:23

roundthebend4 · 15/10/2010 16:04

can you call the school and ask them if they have any idea of what might have happned be intresting see who they blame or could ypu perhaps email them in writing so then can see who is denying it and then guess there blame father xmas

2shoeprintsintheblood · 15/10/2010 16:20

spoke to head of respite last night, she said it happened at school

ScaryMoaningArrrggghhhs · 15/10/2010 16:26

It doesn't tkae much to say 'sorry, I did it' does it?

Are tehy scared of having to pay up? I guess I might be able to understand that, even if its wrong.

roundthebend4 · 15/10/2010 16:29

Hmm I would be tempted to suggest that school and respite check equipment betfore dd goes maybe send a book where they can sign say equipment ok or broke between handovers Just in case something else gets broke that can't be repaired

That way the onus is on each place olto check equipment

2shoeprintsintheblood · 15/10/2010 16:35

thing is half the time they don't even remeber to pack her clothes or wheelchair charger.
all comes down to the fact that they don't communicate with each other let alone me, I can't wait until the next respite review.

don't get me wrong they are all lovely and dd is well looked after, but they are stretched and stuff gets missed, but it is the not admitting to it that angers me, they are adults not children

OP posts:
roundthebend4 · 15/10/2010 16:48

Hmm maybe if made clear that if book not signed fir equipment then if gets broken it's assumed was broke by them and bill would follow mayhe you could preprint checklist

Not sure how often dd is at respite could it be possiable that there's a charger kept there for wheelchair not sure how bulky dd charger is

rebl · 16/10/2010 13:01

Is it possible for them to sign the equipement in and out. Our son lost a radio aid receiver, also hundreds of pounds to replace. Because no one knows where it was lost no one is prepared to take responsibility for the loss and therefore a new one has not been sourced. These equipement being passed between different people is difficult to keep track off I know so maybe its right that a signed log goes with the equipement?

2shoeprintsintheblood · 16/10/2010 19:21

ok mystery solved.
I went to pick dd up from respite, greeted by one very red faced respite manager...
it was her, she was so sorry and embarresed I couldn't be angry(especially when I started looking for dd's pj's and I hadn't sent any inBlush )

mariagoretti · 16/10/2010 20:57

So much easier to deal with a straightforward admission. Glad your DH managed to fix it.

roundthebend4 · 16/10/2010 22:26

Oops on the pjs and glad someone least owned up

2shoeprintsintheblood · 16/10/2010 22:30

i think they lol at me
the other day her top went missing, so when I picked her up I had a good moan.......

went out (dh was loading her) and ranted to dh, she lol and I said"your wearing it arn't you?"
she was
