Just a quick update with some news.
Following the awful parents evening we had last week and the equally awful meeting I had with the HT last friday. It seems that we have made some progress.
1]The HT phoned the SALT and she went into school on thursday to observe Dd3.
2] The HT informed all staff of Dd3's issues in the staff briefing on monday morning [ a little bird told me], she has always refused to do this before and has only rarely shared information about DD3.
3] Something has changed at school and Dd3 has had a much better week, she can't tell me what has been better, but I may find out eventually.
4]Salt has phoned today and said she is referring Dd3 to cahms.
Dare I be happy about all this I am still reeling from last week and don't want to get over excited.
Funnily enough this all reminded me of when Dd1[22] was about 5 and I couldn't cope, I had asked the Gp for help on numerous occasions he didn't take me seriously until I sat in his room one day crying and refused to move until he helped. So excuse me for being sceptical but I can't help myself.Hmm

Sounds good Ineed. Maybe she's had a better week because staff are being a bit more understanding. Know what you mean about getting too over-excited though. There's usually something around the corner to bite you on the arse. Hope not in your case. Have a good weekend and enjoy feeling happy!

Sounds good :).. A little knowledge for staff is free and it can make a big difference!

Maybe DD has picked up the invisible empathy (or whatever teachers substitute for empathy) that comes with a little understanding of the situation? Hope next week goes as well. Smile

I know this is what I am thinking, I am guessing that just the staff noticing her might help. I put some stuff in the note to the HT about her inabilillty to read peoples faces, her poor theory of mind, her rigidness around rules and fear of loud noises. All these things have been sent in writing before but never passed on to the general staff only the class teacher. But does the class teacher do playground duty every day?? No of course they don't. I am hopeful that with more understanding she will bee much happier at school and not boiling over soooo much at home.Smile. That would be nice.
