Clock Not working in Classroom... AS son getting anxious!

Leigh said yesterday that teh classroom clock is not working...and when he asks the teacher the time he says things like
"it's time to work"

Leigh is frustrated by this so i suggested a watch...but he keeps on about EVERY class he has been in has a 'working' clock.

So i think this is as much about 'routine' as anything...added to which he has poor concept of time passing...so believe he probably feels 'overwhelmed'....AND also he is very precise about time at home...so for example he never says "it's nearly halfpast"...he always states the EXACT time....and will correct anyone who dares to say 'it's nearly....'

So...today is his 3rd day back at school ...new teacher....'new' school...(well actually...'old' school...cos he has spent 18mths at a dif school...and has returned back to this one now)

so.....how best to handle this... do i 'ride it out'...as at the mo it's not toooooooooooo bad...or do i approach the teacher and explain why leigh needs a clock...as many SN kids do not get the concept of time etc....

Could give him a little clock for his desk...but as he shares a desk...there's likelihood that it will be 'touched' by others...and leigh would go apeshit at that....

It probably only needs a battery - I would mention it to the teacher and offer to buy one.

oh the poor thing, i used to be obsessed with the clock in the classroom i was in, i,d start packing my stuff away exactly 5 mins before the lesson ended and i always always looked at the time every couple of mins or so, its a security thing and he needs it so i would speak to the teacher or as someone else suggested buy a new one as a watch isnt the same..
