DD2 (3.1) has learned to jump off of the sofa with 2 feet onto the floor. Very trivial, I know, but it is something DD1 can't do, so it is new for us as a family. This morning I said "Show Daddy, DD2).
DD2 climbed up onto the sofa seat, and jumped off, but did her usual jump of jumping off the seat and landing with her bottom on the seat, and feet on the floor. But this time, her feet must have hit the floor too hard, and she started crying lots.
We asked if she was OK, then she cried some more, and pitched off the sofa onto the floor, about 2 feet away. She is a bit of a drama queen, so I thought she was having a tantrum.
But then she rolled over, arched her back and her legs drew up like frogs' legs, and started paddling backwards and forwards, her forearms drew up by her upper arms, and started pumping back and forwards, and her lips pursed and her chin tightened, with her lips moving. She was unresponsive. It probably lasted around 20-25 seconds, although it felt like a lifetime. When she stopped moving, she started crying again.
I called the GP and rushed her down there. He checked her over, was really lovely, and decided that she probably hurt herself really badly, went into spinal shock, which threw her into a seizure, and that when she lost consciousness, her body relaxed and allowed her to recover.
I honestly thought we were going to end up at the hospital, seeing DD1's consultant.
