Hi all,

am about to apply for my daughter with ASD to start school next September. Although I've heard of a couple of mainstream school which are supposedly good with special needs by word of mouth, I can't seem to find any local list or recommendations.

I know I'm not allowed to ask this of professionals... but can anyone here give recommendations?!

Thanks

Ds language problems are severe infact so severe most the units said they could not have him in unit why in end they had to allow him this one. It's a good choice as ds is in unit 100 % of the time

phone county and tell them you want a list of all the special schools and units in Herts they will try fob you of with a well were send you one once statement done but insist on it now .Then phone ip yourself go look round

Ok know ds3 in unit but must admit I'm impressed with the attitudes of Giles infant school on general and how flexiable they ate regarding uniforms etc

missworld - when we lived there they tried to tell us that they couldn't give our eldest the hours he needed because they had to fund other children.

I won't bore you with my response Grin but he got his hours. f/t 1:1.

His paed said that they should have known who they were dealing with Grin

They must have thrown a massive party when we moved to Derbyshire!

So yes. You need to fight.
